Wire By: Mike Feiman, Pooldawg.com

PoolDawg, an online leader in billiards and game room supplies, announced today that they will be supporting the Rack Starz with their launch party November at the Amsterdam Billiards Club, New York City’s original upscale billiards club. PoolDawg will be providing a complimentary gift to each of the 300 guests attending the group’s event.
“When Gail Glazebrook and Jennifer Barretta first told me about the Rack Starz concept, I was very excited” said PoolDawg’s President, Michael Feiman. “One of the biggest hurdles the industry is facing today is overcoming the erroneous clichéd perception of pool players being unsavory individuals. The vast majority of people playing pool just want to have a good time, whether they are blue collar or white collar and have no interest in gambling and hustling. The Rack Starz are promoting a great image for pool and we want to support them in their efforts”.
The event, scheduled to be held the evening of November 18th,will kick off the group’s first product, their 2012/2013 eighteen month Limted Edition Collector Series Calendar. The Rack Starz will be on hand to autograph calendars, meet and greet fans and play challenge matches.

10 Worst Nightmares for a PR Pro- PRDaily report

PRDaily.com, report:

PR pros are not easily scared, but these horrifying acts are sure to raise the hair on the neck of even the toughest PR cookie. (Cue scary music from the shower scene in "Psycho.") We wouldn’t wish these PR nightmares on our worst enemy.

1. You mail merge a pitch to the wrong media list.

2. Your big placement is canned due to a huge breaking news.

3. A press release is issued with the CEO’s name misspelled and all the URLs are dead.

4. You wake to find a cover story featuring all your competitors.

5. Crisis, crisis, crisis and no prepared plan of attack.

6. No media show up for your press conference or media event.

7. You accidentally share a personal tweet on the corporate account.

8. You lose cell/Internet service; what is a PR pro without access?

9. An expensive PR stunt results in zero coverage.

10. You have the wrong addresses listed on a media tour and your spokesperson is late to every interview.

What is your worst PR nightmare?

Report from PRDaily.com, Jennifer Nichols is co-founder and CEO of newly launched FlackList, where media can easily search, source, connect and maintain relationships with PR reps and experts within a social network setting.

STEVE JOBS, APPLE CO-FOUNDER PASSED AWAY AT AGE 56

Steve Jobs, Apple Co-Founder and Visionary Passed Away at Age 56.

Steven P. Jobs, the visionary co-founder and former chief executive of Apple, has died at 56.

Apple said in a press release that it was “deeply saddened” to announce that Mr. Jobs had passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2011.

"Steve’s brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives,” the company said. “The world is immeasurably better because of Steve."

The homepage of Apple's website this evening switched to a full-page image of Jobs with the text, "Steve Jobs 1955-2011."

Clicking on the image revealed additional text, credited to current Apple CEO Tim Cook.

"Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being," the text read. "Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple."
"If you would like to leave your thoughts, memories and condolences, please email rememberingsteve@apple.com"  continues the website.

Jobs co-founded Apple Computer in 1976 and, with his childhood friend Steve Wozniak, marketed what was considered the world's first personal computer, the Apple II Series. Then in the mid 80's created what was called the Macintosh.

Without him there would be no iPhone, Macbook, iPad or iPod. We thank you Mr. Jobs for changing the way the world uses technology and reinforcing that a small dream can come true if you follow your heart.

AMSTERDAM BILLIARDS BECOMES THE OFFICIAL HOME OF RACK STARZ, NYC

Amsterdam Billiards announces its partnership with Rack Starz as the official home of Rack Starz New York City.

When the 12 initial Rack Starz were chosen, co-founders Gail Glazebrook and Jennifer Barretta focused on selecting ladies who played out of Amsterdam Billiards since this is where they spent most of their time. So teaming up with Amsterdam as the Home of Rack Starz NYC seemed like a no brainer.

“Amsterdam Billiards is the place to play pool in New York City. Offering a range of players from beginner to professional, leagues that accommodate them all, and a fully stocked bar with friendly wait staff, Amsterdam Billiards is where pool and pleasure come together.” says Gail. “It’s the place to be whether you're a world champion or want to have a fun first date.” continues Jennifer.
Amsterdam will be hosting the first official Rack Starz event, their calendar launch party November 18th.  This will be a semi-private event detailed as the introduction of Rack Starz to New York City where the ladies will conduct press interviews, sell and autograph calendars, meet and greet with their fans and the media as well as take on some lucky competitors for a round of pool to showcase their talents.
“We are very excited to partner up with Rack Starz and become the home of such amazing talent and beauty.” confirms Amsterdam co-owner, Greg Hunt.
